A farewell dinner was hosted to mark the parting of Admiral (Prof.) Jayanath Colombage, Secretary to the Foreign Ministry, as Director General at the Institute of National Security Studies. The event was held on the 16th of July at Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo 03 in an elegant style. The event was graced by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, State Ministry of National Security and Disaster Management General G. D. H. Kamal Gunaratne (Retd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc MPhil, and the current Director General at INSS, Prof Rohan Gunaratna. The staff of INSS joined the farewell dinner. During the event, several anecdotes and speeches were shared in reminiscence of the inspirational role played by Admiral (Prof.) Colombage.
Professor Colombage has been a pillar of support in nurturing the institution and enhancing the knowledge obtained through his invaluable contribution. He has been a mentor to everyone and has played a key role in uplifting the quality of research produced at INSS. He will always be treasured by the staff of INSS for his prudent contribution.
