Research Staff of INSS defend their Group research -2022

The viva voce examination for the two Group researches carried out by the staff of INSS for the year 2022 was held on 15th December 2022, at the Conference Hall of INSS. The two groups of researchers selected two timely topics concerning the national security of Sri Lanka namely ‘Brain drain: An apex threat to Sri Lanka” and “Strategic Analysis on “Aragalaya 2022.” General Kamal Gunaratne (Retd.) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc Mphil, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence chaired the panel of examiners while Prof. Ajith de Alwis, FNASSL, Chief Innovation Officer National Innovation Agency, Dean of Graduate Studies, University of Moratuwa, Honorary Senior Research Fellow of INSS and Professor Praveen Abhayaratne, Professor at National American University, Professor in Strategic Security Policy Advocate for Bio-Circular Economy Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Studies Program, Henley-Putnam School of Strategic Security, College of Military Studies were the other two members of the panel for the viva voce. The paper on ‘Brain Drain an Apex threat to National Security’ was defended and led by Ms. Gayanga Dias - Research Assistant, with Wing Commander Meuna, Heendeniya - Military Research Officer and Ms. Dilmini Abeyrathne - Research Assistant as members. Strategic Analysis on “Aragalaya 2022” was defended and led by Ms. Charani Patabendige - Acting Research Analyst and Research Assistant with Lieutenant Colonel Indika Chandrakumara - Military Research Officer, Lieutenant Commander Amila Prasanga - Military Research Officer, Mr. Thusitha Bulathgama - Research Assistant and Mrs. Kalpani Gunathilaka - Research Assistant as members.
