Institute of National Security Studies, the premier think tank on National Security celebrated the dawn of the New year on its first working day, Monday the 2 nd of January 2023 with a simple ceremony that was participated by all staff members with new clothes to symbolize the specialty of the day. Customarily the official ceremony commenced with the singing of the National anthem followed by observing a two minutes silence to commemorate the war heroes and others who sacrificed their lives on behalf of the motherland. After that; all staff members read aloud the Oath of Public Servants. Finally Acting Director General and Director (Communications and Publications) -INSS Rear Admiral Dimuthu Gunawardena RWP**,RSP, VSV, USP, nswc, psc, hdmc delivered a short motivational speech on the government policy and the programme introduced to overcome the present challenges and the contribution of the public servant in achieving the said objectives highlighting the dedication for duty in particular to the role and mandate of the institute. Subsequently, all members commenced work for the new year by lighting the traditional oil lamp to usher in blessings and prosperity upon the institution and its employees which was followed by a tea party with a food table with milk rice and traditional sweetmeats.
