Overlooking Director General and Acting Director – Research of the INSS Colonel Nalin Herath RSP who is also the Director Media of Ministry of Defence met the Executive Director of the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies Prof. Gamini Keerawella in his office at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo today (Oct 17).
After a warm reception both heads of Institutes had a fruitful discussion where a range topics relating to international studies and relations, research, humanitarian law and etc were discussed. Both officials acknowledged the importance of increasing the knowledge capacity of local students by formulating and employing latest pedagogical methodologies and technological innovations.
The discussion also highlighted the enhancement of the existing academic and research partnership between the two institutes with the possibility of providing an interactive platform to discuss common issues and opportunity for academics and researchers to network among themselves.
The INSS and BCIS have close interests in capacity building and knowledge sharing which may influence policy making at both national and international levels.
