Miss Charani Patabendige Presents At The 2nd International Students Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference

On July 14, 2024, Miss Charani Patabendige, Acting Research Analyst and Research Assistant at the Institute of National Security Studies, presented a paper titled "Digital Peacebuilding: Path Towards Reconciliation" at the 2nd International Students Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference. The event, organized by the International Institute for Strategic Research, featured 64 participants from 22 countries.

In her paper, Miss Patabendige emphasized how peacebuilding efforts are increasingly shifting to the digital space in response to evolving threats in the digital era. She highlighted the competence, speed, and accessibility of digital peacebuilding, discussing its benefits, such as broader reach and real-time communication, as well as the challenges, including digital literacy and cybersecurity concerns. The paper underscored the contemporary relevance of digital peacebuilding in today’s rapidly changing global security environment.
